Project Information
Ozcare is a well-established company, looking after those older in our community with aged care facilities, home support, and providing carers as required. Ozcare have grown significantly over the years and have recently expanded their current Currimundi site adding additional units to the retirement village complex. Woollam Constructions were contracted to undertake this project.
Installation
During the civil works unexpected poor ground conditions were encountered and the best solution was the use of GridTex 30/30 geogrid/geotextile reinforcement on the existing subgrade before the imported good quality granular fill material was placed.
GridTex is a high-performance polypropylene geogrid with a geotextile laminated to it providing both reinforcement and separation. The geogrid interlocks and reinforces the aggregate backfill while the geotextile provides separation and prevents migration of soil from the underling soft subgrade into the good quality aggregate backfill.
Cirtex was contacted by Woolam Construction and were able to supply the required GridTex to site quickly. This allowed construction to continue and prevented any further delays caused by these unexpected ground conditions.
The GridTex used provided the following benefits to the project:
- Large stockholdings for fast delivery and no wait time
- Provides separation and reinforcement for roading applications in one roll
- Durable and high resistance to damage
