Sleeve-It® SD-1 is a pre-engineered fence post anchoring solution for enhancing below-grade foundational stability in fences placed on top of a segmental retaining wall (SRW). Sleeve-It’s patent-pending design allows stable fence footings to be integrated into the support structure of the SRW while it is being constructed.
Due to its cantilevered form and other properties, using Sleeve-It during the SRW build allows a fence to be built close to the wall edge, eliminating the need for a setback.

Sleeve-It SD-1 is a pre-engineered fence post anchoring solution for enhancing below-grade foundational stability in fences and placed on top of a segmental retaining wall (SRW). We recommend the Sleeve-It product to simplify installation and reduce the risk of damage to the reinforcement geogrids during fence installation.
Sleeve-It is made from 95% post-consumer recycled polypropylene.
Sleeve-It nominal dimensions are 0.59m (H) x 0.39m (W) x 0.78m (D). Each unit weighs approximately 3.2kg.
We suggest installing Sleeve-It approximately 600mm (3 blocks) below the proposed top of the wall (not including the capstone) by placing the Sleeve-It units against the back of the segmental retaining wall blocks.
The minimum offset between the wall crest and fence is typically 0.9m. However, can be reduced to 0.5m if Sleeve-it is used. The Sleeve-It units should be spaced in accordance with the fence specifications.
Note that the Sleeve-It void is to be filled with concrete around the fence post, once installed.
The Sleeve-It system is designed to accommodate the most common fence types installed above segmental retaining walls. Special considerations depending on the fence material and size may be given to fences exposed to high wind pressures. We suggest consulting an engineer for advice and assistance on specific fence design.
